TTT: 2021 Reading Goals

Top Ten Tuesday: Reading goals for 2021

1. Read at least 110 books. This is my Goodreads goal for this year.

2. My Own Personal National Book Award Challenge---(to read at least two of the winners for the past ten years.)  Read the 2020 National Book Award winners and make a stab on the 2021 winners when they are announced.

3. Read the 2021 Pulitzer Prize winner in literature.

4. Read all the 2021 Printz winners, the award book and the honor books. They will be announced then end of January.

5. Classics Club Spins. Participate in at least three of them.

 6. Read at least one Big Book as part of the Big Book Summer Challenge.

7. Audiobook Challenge: Listen to 30 audiobooks in 2021.

8. Complete my 'One big reading goal of the year'. This year that book is DUNE by Frank Herbert.

9. Read all 21 nonfiction finalists for Cybils judging.

10. Write blog reviews for every book club selection read in 2021.

  1. The Classics Club Spin always intrigues me since I don't read enough classics...

  2. I like the idea of making it a set goal to read a Big Book, especially for people with number-based reading challenges who might otherwise shy away from big time investments (like me. i'm people).

  3. I enjoy stepping back and rethinking everything that is important.

  5. Dune was so painful! I read it on my march through all the books in the library, and THEN decided to weed it. Good luck with that. I feel like I've read enough classics, and my students don't care for them, so I just continue on with new books. Nice to have a plan!

    1. My daughter and I are reading it for a book club. It was on my list of books that I thought I should read before I die. She has started. I haven't. She thinks it is painful. Oh dear.

  14. At least your CYBILS goal will be done in the next few weeks! That will be fun and satisfying to cross one off your list. I'm glad you've also got the Printz Award books on there. I am so looking forward to seeing who all the nominees are for the YA books.
