Not the last one I've read, but one of my fav books of all time is Brave New World by Aldous Huxley - it's fantastic and was my gateway novel into dystopian fiction, I guess, lol. I noticed a lot of books on the lists that I've had to read for school, which I think is interesting.

I am actually reading a Gossip girl book right now. Kinda surprised they are banned!
One of my favorites, but not the latest I've read is Ray Bradbury's Farenheit 451. Who could ever forget scenes of books burning. Many interpretations have abounded since it's 1953 publication. It has to do with literature falling out of favor, with preference given to TV factoids according to Bradbury, but has been used to bolster points relating to censorship and dissenting ideas.

Thanks for participating in this!
ReplyDeleteI was reading one of your above posts on the subject, and I have to agree with you. I wouldn't doubt that there were several books that have successfully been banned where the people voting to ban the book never read it. Too often people react or vote out of ignorance and it hurts the majority.
leyser73 AT yahoo DOT com
I would love to win the gift card.
I can't remember the last banned book that I read, but some of my favorites are Speak and A Light in the Attic, plus the Harry Potter Books are great. Twenty Boy Summer is towards the top of my TBR pile. I am following you on GFC as LisILJ
