The Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice.
Check out the links for the rules and for the posts of the participants each week. Participants don't select their favorite, coolest, or most intellectual books, they just use the one they are currently reading. This is the book I'm reading right now:
Book Title: Everything, Everything (ARC) by Nicola Yoon
Book Beginnings:
I've read many more books than you. It doesn't matter how many you've read. I've read more. Believe me. I've had the time.Friday 56: (actually from page 155)
He sends pictures of his locker (#23), his class schedule, the library, and the librarian who looks exactly as I imagine a high school librarian would, which is to say bookish and wonderful.Comments: Maddy had a condition where she is allergic to just about everything so she has to live her life in a bubble of protection, vicariously living through others and through books. It is a really cute story. I had to break the rules and pull the quote from page 155 because I am a high school librarian and I like thinking that some students think I look bookish and wonderful! :)
It sounds wonderful!!! Another one to add to my list!
ReplyDeleteAs a college librarian, I love books that give props to libraries and librarians. I must add this one to my list.

The quotes make it seem like it is all about books and it is, to some degree, but there is much more of the story about her disease.
DeleteDelightful excerpts! I love descriptions that show us the characters. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds good. It is new to me. I'm also a school librarian so I particularly like your 56. My book is Paperweight by Meg Haston. Happy reading!
ReplyDelete"Bookish and Wonderful." Yea, I'm sure that's me too! I may have to use that quote somewhere in my library! Great review. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes you are bookish and wonderful.
DeleteThis sounds great! :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out my Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings).
How interesting, I actually haven't heard of this one, but I like the sound of it. And such a wonderful cover. Happy reading and enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about this book and I love the excerpts! The 56 (or 155) especially is great.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really touching story and the cover is really pretty as well. I have always loved librarians because they have such an access to books that surely they must be genius! Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!
