After leaving Birch Bay, Don and I drove south through La Conner, Washington hoping to find a tulip field in bloom. We were worried about the weather because the reports said it would rain, even with the possibility of a thunderstorm. We totally lucked out. The weather was sunny, though a bit cold and windy and the tulips were in bloom. Oh boy, were they in bloom. Check out a few of our photos. They don't do justice to gorgeous colors and the whole experience.
This artist was setting up his easel just as we were parking the car. After making our way around the whole field we returned to our car and couldn't believe his progress on the painting. Amazing. |
How beautiful! That's what spring should look like!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! It's hard not to take 100's of pics, isn't it?!?
ReplyDeleteThat is for sure! My camera ran out of batteries which is just as well so we had to rely on Don's big Pentax which takes way better photos anyway.
DeleteIt's so beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so incredible - I would love to visit! Cheers from Carole's Chatter
ReplyDeletewow!!! beautiful is an under statement
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic that looks! I've seen displays (big displays of tulips in festivals and things), but never anything on that scale. How wonderful.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter-in-law and I attended the Tulip Festival a couple of years ago and we were both blown away by the fields of flowers. Neither of us had ever seen anything like it! Your photos are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAll those colours are stunning. And on such a big scale.
ReplyDeleteThat would be amazing to see in person. The closest I have seen to that would be a paddock full of sunflowers.
