Snapshot Saturday, October 5th

Snapshot Saturday is hosted at West Metro Mommy Reads. All photos must be originals.

I took this photo of Mt. Rainier from the window of my school library yesterday. We are so spoiled where we live and often forget to appreciate it. Because of foggy and cloudy weather for the past week, the mountain was completely obscured. Then yesterday, behold, there it was again. (The sports field backstops are the fuzzy things in the foreground.) Can you believe that I get to look at this everyday when I go to work?

  2. We have an amazing view from RHS too, although the baseball backstops ruin it a little. When it's a beautiful sunset, it's incredible!

    1. I know, the view from RHS is grand but I couldn't believe that they placed the backstops where they did. I went to a wine tasting yesterday after school at a winery in Graham. Their view of the mountain was unobscured by any sports paraphernalia. Any way you look at it, the mountain is lovely and we are lucky.

  3. I know what you mean...sometimes we don't notice the beauty that we see everyday. Thanks for sharing...now I'm going out to catch a glimpse of the few hills we can see. Thanks for visiting my blog.

    1. Yup. This is really my view from my desk. Sometimes students close the shades because the sun streams in them each morning. When that happens I have to remind myself to open the shades again once the sun is up. Of course with typical NW weather the mountain is often obscured from view by clouds.

  7. It's really important to appreciate the beauty that we see everyday. Saturday Snapshot is a great way to do that. That certainly is a beautiful view of the mountain you have- I didn't even notice the sports equipment til I looked for it, my eyes were just drawn to the mountain.

  10. What a majestic beauty. Is that really snow on top already? I'm guessing that NW is somewhere north in the USA or Canada?

    1. It always has snow on it but we have already had a snow event in the mountains which is earlier that usual.

    2. Yes, we are in Washington State in the NW corner of the USA, next to BC Canada.

  11. Wow so beautiful! I can see the Rockies from my neck of the woods, afar, but Mt. Rainier looks so close, so massive.

  16. Great picture! I usually only get to see Mt. Rainier as we leave my in-laws...and it never looks that good through our windshield!
