TTT: Books that have been on my TBR list the longest

Top Ten Tuesday: A list of books that have been on my TBR (To-Be-Read) list the longest.  (With the help of my Goodreads Account)

I did a purge on my Goodreads account a few months ago because I had so many books on it that I no longer wanted to read. So my TBR list doesn't seem too bad or dated.

  1. I loved Lonesome Dove and enjoyed The Cuckoo's Calling. The others I haven't read.

    1. I bought Don Lonesome Dove for Christmas this year, I hope to dive into it some day soon.

  2. I've only read Interpreter of Maladies and enjoyed it. I've had some books on my tbr list for so long. I actually weeded 100-200 books from my GR shelf because I was no longer interested in them.

    1. Often I will read a read from folks like you and will add the title to my shelf then forget who suggested it and why they liked it. Sigh.

  3. Of those, I've read True Grit. I've read it multiple times -- soooo good!

    1. I want to get it in audiobook but haven't found it in that format. Guess I'll have to relent and read it in print form.

    2. There's an audio version on Audible if that works for you. It would be a cool one to listen to!

    1. My daughter told me the same thing so I'd best get to it!

  6. I loved Visit from the Goon Squad. I went in with no expectations, thinking it was some sort of beach read, and was therefore blown away. Several of these are on my TBR too, and Interpreter of Maladies is actually on my list this week also.

    1. Good to know about the Goon Squad. I should really get to it.

  7. Great way to do you list. The one problem with me doing that is that I had a TBR before I started using Goodreads and Goodreads shows my import from my Excel spreadsheet date. But, still very ingenious.

  8. I haven't read any of these books, but I have heard of True Grit. Is that the book version of the movie with Hailee Steinfeld? My TTT post

  9. I've read Interpreter of Maladies and The Cuckoo's Calling. Liked both, but really enjoy the series that Cuckoo is in. The characters of Cormoran and Robin are great!

  10. I did the same thing with my TBR list as well. It actually feels really good to get rid of books I know I'm never going to get to.

  11. Your post got me to look at my Goodreads list and see which book has been on there the longest and it turns out I added about 8 books on the same day. I was a librarian then so obviously I was perusing the shelves and adding things that looked good!
