This is my week, after waiting for months, I got all but one of the audiobooks I've requested from the public library at once:
The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black (12+ hours)
The Lord of Opium by Nancy Farmer (11+ hours)
The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater (12+ hours)
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell (12+ hours)
Why do they all arrive at once?
And the one I really need is And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini. I placed a hold on it in June. Now I need it for book club this coming month. I'm still in line for it, my place is 6 out of 45.
At least I'll have something else to listen to while I'm waiting!
Does this happen to you, too?
People send me so many books now I can't even get to library books.
ReplyDeleteYes, when it rains, it pours. I have so many books at home right now because of this - 10 of them came in on Tuesday. I will never get them all done before they are due.
ReplyDeleteYES!! I drives me crazy. I just settled in with a book I won from goodreads (This is only the second book I've ever won from them) and two books came in at the library- both non-renewable. I picked them up two days ago and then got notified today that 4 more are in. And some I've been waiting for for months. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteIt's happening to me now. I have at least 6 good books on my tablet(those don't count) as well as 4 library books I've been waiting for a long time AND the BC book. There just isn't enough time!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a worse problem than me right now. Why does it happen this way?
DeleteSo frustrating. I am taking FanGirl with me on my trip this weekend
ReplyDeleteI just finished downloading Fangirl from the Overdrive site. i wonder if I will be able to talk my husband into listening to it on our trip down to Oregon this week-end. I hear it is good.
DeleteAhh this is the worst! It's definitely a thing. Although I have to say, since moving to a big city, even with brand new books I don't have to wait more than a week to get it which has been AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's happening right now. I'm juggling 4 books right now and I'm trying to finish House of Hades since it's got a long waiting list at the library and Allegiant which I thought for sure would have a huge list but apparently I was the first person to place it on hold. So frustrating!
