Last week we went for a walk along the Puyallup Riverwalk. along the way we were stopped short by this wonderful carved tree. We obviously hadn't strolled on this route for a few years since we didn't know about this carved monument full of northwest animals and symbols. Love it! Look carefully for all the critters, birds, fish, and gnomes.

What fun! And such a wonderful surprise, too. Thanks for sharing...and thanks for visiting my blog. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! Love the fairy door. :)
ReplyDeleteI know, the door is so darling. I wanted to get my dog near it so you could see the actual size, but then my dog is a Corgi so everything would be out of proportion anyway. Ha!
DeleteWhat a beautiful tree. I bet children (and adults) really enjoy hunting for all the animals.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous tree, who did it.
ReplyDeleteI don't know the artist but it was commissioned by the Puyallup Riverwalk Association here in town.
DeleteThat little door is adorable! I love whimsical carvings.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous tree!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific idea to carve into the tree rather than taking the wood to carve creatures away from the tree. Here's Mine
ReplyDeleteI know. It was such a shock when we stumbled upon it. Obviously the tree was there before the carving, perhaps it had died or was a snag. Anyway, it is a treasure.
DeleteVery clever!
