Top Ten Tuesday: Books I've actually read in a single sitting
To be honest, I rarely read books in one sitting unless they are Children's books (no fair) or graphic novels. So I decided to share the graphic novels I remember reading start to finish.
1. The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang
2. Speak: The Graphic Novel by Laurie Halse Anderson
3. The Faithful Spy: Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the Plot to Kill Hitler by John Hendrix
4. Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me by Mariko Tamaki
5. New Kid by Jerry Craft
6. Cicada by Shaun Tan
7. Dancing at the Pity Party by Tyler Feder
8. The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy
9. March, Book 3 by John Lewis
10. The Spill Zone, #1 by Scott Westerfeld

Oh I forgot about The Boy, The Mole! Great choice! I did read it in one sitting, although rather sneakily before wrapping it for my wife for her Christmas present!
ReplyDeleteI gave it for gifts, too.
DeleteNice mix of reads.
ReplyDeleteI remember Speak being a pretty quick read. I didn't know that it was originally a novel when I picked up the graphic novel version, so I was surprised once I finished it and figured it out lol. Thanks for sharing your list!
ReplyDeleteI need to read Chalie Mackesy's book, I've heard such good things about it. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/romance-books-to-read-in-one-sitting/
ReplyDeleteI recently added the boy, the mole... to my amazon wishlist after reading so many good reviews! My TTT: https://readingwithkat.wordpress.com/2021/07/20/top-ten-books-i-read-in-one-sitting/
ReplyDeleteI loved the book so much, I gave it to everyone last Christmas.
DeleteI'd put Maus and the March series at the top of my list of favorite graphic novels. I'm eager to read a few I've just discovered: Encyclopedia of Early Earth; Here by Richard McGuire; and A Contract with God.
ReplyDeleteI need to check out your suggestions.
DeleteI've read Speak though it wasn't the graphic novel version. It took me about a month to read, but that was kind of on and off.

Speak is a very heavy book and topic, for sure.
DeleteGreat list of books! I didn't know there was a graphic novel version of Speak, I think I'll have to pick up a copy.

The boy, the mole, the fox and the horse is such a wonderful book. I've also read it one sitting, in a few other sittings and it's a constant re-read!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!

ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Start with The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse. It is amazing and profound.
DeleteI've heard so many good things about The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse! The Prince and the Dressmaker looks really cute, also.
ReplyDeleteSpeak: The Graphic Novel was a great one to read in a single sitting. I haven't heard of the rest, but I'm going to have to check them out. I've only recently gotten into graphic novels. Great list!
ReplyDeleteWe have similar books on our list this week! (Wait, what - Speak is a graphic novel???)
ReplyDeleteHere's my Top Ten Tuesday list!
I know. I had to read the graphic novel of Speak as soon as I saw it. It had been years since I read the print book.
DeleteI didn’t realize Scott Westerfeld had written a graphic novel! I’ll have to check that one out. Great list!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, a wonderful list of quick reads! Most graphic novels qualify for this, which is one thing I really enjoy about them. I can get really immersed in them and it's satisfying at the end.
