I Am a Reader-Not a Writer |
"Know Me Better"
This Week's Questions:
Where is your favorite spot to read?
Are you a fast or slow reader? (you can test your reading speed here)
Fanfiction - Love it or Hate it? Have your ever read/written it?
Summer or Winter?
Truth or Dare?
My Answers:
- My favorite spot to read is currently the couch in the family room but I have also found a bit of time to read at the desk in my back office during lunch time. My absolute favorite spot is in the hammock in the backyard but not this time of year, obviously. :)
- I took the little test and found that I read around 380 words/min. If I were able to maintain that speed of reading I could read War and Peace in 28 hours. Ha!
- Fanfiction? I don't even know what it is. I looked it up and still don't know. Please tell me.
- Summer. Duh!
- Truth, I'm not a very daring person.

ReplyDeleteSorry! Had a typo!
DeleteThe only fan fiction I know of are writings like 50 Shades. :-/
Truth... much better.
ReplyDeleteReading in the hammock is soooo wonderful!
haha great answers.
ReplyDeleteI hae to resort to reading on the sofa now or in the bath. Although I must admit, if I'm not very very tired I've started reading in bed at night (how long i stay awake is another questions haha)
Fan Fiction is like.... how can I explain it. Its like someone like me who isn't an author and a fan of a book writing a short story about two characters being together or situations that wouldn't necessarily happy in the book. Take my answer for insistent, I loved it for all the stories about Hermione and Draco hahah
Hammock is a great place to read! Wish I had one.
ReplyDeleteFan Fiction is taking characters and worlds from books you love and writing your own stories about them. My daughter (age 10) does it all the time in her journals, only she adds herself into the stories.
Oh, what fun!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I am a bit of a Dare person myself, at least I was in my youth - bit of a risk-taker, I'm afraid (I see way too much of myself in my youngest son now!), though life has certainly slowed me WAY down.
I read mostly in bed, at bedtime and before my daily nap - that is the one silver lining in living with a chronic illness - I hate to stop what I am doing to nap each day but I do love the extra reading time :) I have developed a bad habit of always being on my laptop when I am on the couch in the family room (as I am right now!) - one of my 2013 goals is to put it down more and read more!
Will have to try that reading speed thingy -
Sue
Wow, I only scored 285 words per minute, putting me just barely ahead of 8th grade students! huh. But I scored 100% on the quiz :)
ReplyDeleteMy son flies through books - I'd be interested to see how he does!
