Follow Friday

Follow Friday: Take a minute to check out other blogs and follow those that you find fun, exciting, interesting. The featured blog this week is: Read. Breathe. Relax. Congratulations!

The question of the day is:  What is the worst book that you actually finished?

The Human Stain by Philip Roth

The book won all kinds of awards and Philip Roth is a celebrated author.  But I hated this book and so did everyone in my book club.  It was unanimous, a first.  Even though the plot was intriguing the book was so hard to read.  Ugh.

Weekly update:
Why are so many YA novels depressing?---join in the discussion
Between Shades of Gray Book Review--- a wonderful historical novel
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: a Graphic Novel--- fun and funny.

  1. I've never read any of Philip Roth, but I do like some of the films that are based on his books.

  4. I find it interesting that books with a ton of awards are often the ones that readers don't enjoy as much as others.

  7. Yeah sometimes a book can have a great idea for a plot, but it just isn't executed very well. Haven't heard of that one, but it doesn't sound like something I'm in danger of picking up. lol

Thanks for stopping by my follow friday and book blogger hop and following my blog! I'm following your blog now as well! :)

  8. Hopping through. I've only read one Roth book. I liked it but I don't feel inclined to read all his books.

  9. I think Phillip Roth can be difficult to read. I didn't read this one but I read another one by Phillip Roth that I didn't like because it was difficult to read.

  10. I usually don't like books that have gotten a lot of awards either. It just means they're difficult to read, generally. :P

New follower hopping through! Hope you're having a good weekend!
