Booking through Thursday...Night Owl?

Booking ThroughThursday
Question:
What’s the latest you’ve ever stayed up reading a book? Is staying up late reading a usual thing for you?

Answer:
I rarely stay up late reading anymore.  I used to lay in bed for hours reading but now that I have bifocals it isn't so easy to read in bed. I do read every night before turning off the light, though not for long.

  1. I think the latest I've stayed up was about 2am. It's not a usual thing for me at all. I have a 8 to 5 job and a family to take care of. So if I go to bed late, it messes up my day the next day.

  3. I am an early to bed person but about twice I've stayed up until 2 or 3am to finish a book, but luckily it was on a weekend!

  5. I also read every night but it's only for a few minutes and then I'm out.

  6. 4 am - Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None. I wasn't going to sleep until that story was resolved. And even then I might have slept with the lights on. :)

  7. Yeah, glasses and reading at night isn't the best. I always take mine off when reading (near-sighted).

Also, I only need about 4 hours of sleep to function properly. If I get an hour I can get by, but that'll entail a power nap sometime during the day.

  8. I rarely stay up late these days too! My daughter is an early riser, so I usually try to keep my nights early. Unless of course the right book comes along! :) Love your blog! :)

  10. Usually 2am is my max. But only if it's a really good book, or a really scary book because I can't sleep until I know everything is alright.

  11. Last night I stayed up until 1am to finish The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams. I can only do that in the summertime, though, since staying up late before teaching makes me too cranky. :)

  13. When I was in college I stayed up all night reading Da Vinci Code.

I had to be at work at 8 am but it was worth it!

  14. I am a professional late owl. yep! I will do an all nighter if that book is a page turner. I have done 8pm to 4am reading, went to bed, got up at 7am, went to make breakfast for the church members that come in for early morning prayer, luckily it was just contineatial (spell wrong) breakfast.
