  2. Almost every book I read is a book recommended to me by someone in my reading life. I remember recommending Lonesome Dove to my niece when she was in high school. It made her a reader. A happy moment.

  16. Lots of great books here this week! I didn't think about Hatchet at all, but a really great librarian recommended it to me when I was a kid and I fell in love with it—and other survival books!
