There was a time, and it was many years ago now, when I had to stay in a hospital for almost nine weeks.

Lucy Barton was estranged from her mother until she showed up at the hospital as a companion as Lucy mended. I've read very little of this book so far but I do like the author. Her book Olive Kitteridge was amazing.

      It is a book club selection. That is one of the things I enjoy about book club, is reading books which I might otherwise not select.

    Just finished this one a few weeks back, and really enjoyed it. I've put Olive Kitteridge on my must-read list. Hope you love the rest of the book!

      Olive Kitteridge is a book anomaly...the writing is spectacular but you don't like the main character.

      I know. Very long. So far we know it was surgery but that is all. I hope it will be revealed just for my curiosity sake.
