Book: The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman
Book Beginnings:
Lloyd shoves off the bedcovers and hurries to the front door in white underwear and black socks.Friday 56:
'You're annoyingly good at hailing boys,' Hardy says. 'Though it is demeaning how they slobber over you.'My thoughts: all the characters in this book work for a scrappy English-language newspaper in Rome. All of the characters are fascinating but flawed. Each chapter title is a news headline. I am currently on the chapter titled, 76 DIE IN BAGHDAD BOMBING about the news editor. Lloyd and Hardy, from the above quotes, are two more characters in previous chapters. I'm actually enjoying the book quite a lot.
