Day 3 Question:
Pick a setting from a book where you would like to travel right now. Explain.

My Answer:
In a Sun Burned Country by Bill Bryson.  The whole book is about Bryson's journeys around Australia.  I would love to see the whole country of Australia, just as he did.

Also answer Day 1 Question and Day 2 questions.

  1. I have to pick one setting? Wow, that's a hard question. Circle of Friends by Maeve Binchy. The book is set in Ireland outside of Dublin, I believe. Ireland has such a rich history and I would love to see the countryside where the characters live.

  2. Good questions. I had to think back into my TBR pile because the location I immediately thought of was Australia, but I couldn't remember reading anything set there. I do have I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak on my TBR list, and it is set there.

  4. You know what, I appreciate that you seem to care about the answers to these questions at all. They're all really good questions, too (which sounds weirdly like sucking up, but is of course not).

I'm actually into Picnic at Hanging Rock right now, and even though some fricking weird stuff happened there, I'd really like to go there (big rock formation in Australia).

  5. Oooh, I like this. It is so thought-provoking.
I'd say Italy from Under the Tuscan Sun. I have always wanted to travel to Italy.

  6. I LOVE In a Sunburned Country. Made me want to go to Australia ... and travel around with Bill Bryson. He would just make me laugh the whole time, I think!

I read Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah about a month ago, set in Washington state, and she made it sound absolutely gorgeous. I really want to go and visit that area sometime in the next few years.

  7. Middle-Earth. I love the descriptions of Middle-Earth by Tolkien and I think visiting it for real would be so awesome.

  8. I would love to travel to Victorian England as seen in Emma. Just for a day or two to see what it was really like! (But the dress has to be included in the trip.) ;)

  9. Tapestry of Love by Rosy Thornton is set in a rural village in the Cevannes Mountains in France and though I don't know if I would ever want to live there permanently it's definitely a place I would love to escape to when life gets a little too stressful!

  15. Well, I can't say just one book. But lately I've been reading a lot of novels where the setting is in New York City. I would love to go there and just experience the city the way people talk about it and the way authors describe it in their stories.

  16. I would like to travel to the setting in The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. If I remember right, it is in Australia, but just the way the author wrote about the setting(s) made me want to go there and experience the beautiful area.
