Day 5 Question:
If you could make one character from any book "come alive" and spend some time with you, who would it be and why?

My Answer:
If you have been reading my blog for any time now you should know that I am completely ga-ga over Karl Shoemaker in Tales of the Madman Underground: An Historical Romance 1973 by John Barnes. Why?  Because Karl is a hero and friend to all, even in the face of terrible circumstances at home.  In addition, Karl is growing up in the 1970s, when I was in high school.  If I couldn't have him for a boyfriend, I'd at least want him for a friend.  :)

What is your answer to today's question?

Also answer Day 1 , Day 2 , Day 3, Day 4 questions. Remember you can enter this contest everyday!

  1. I'll just list my top 3!
    1) Victor - The Hunter(UK)The Killer(US) - Tom Wood. Why? Because I'm into antiheros and he's a freelance killer. I'd love to talk to him about how he can deal with what he does "for a living". His emotional state of mind....does he feel regret? Can he ALLOW himself to do so? It would be one interesting convo!

2)Julian Darcangelo - Hard Evidence by Pamela Clare. Why? Because he is the ultimate tortured hero, oh so sexy and a bit of a softy deep down. Me want!

3)Lacey Wright - Looking for Lacey. Why? She's the mother of a teenage girl. Finally a heroine with responsibilities! Great contemporary romance. Lacey is a strong woman, but also has her flaws...lik everyone else. Would love to have coffee with her. #girlstalk

  2. Such a good but tough question! I'm going to go all geeky and pick Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter books. She is just so clever and fun!

  3. Hm....can I pick Ethan Wate from Beautiful Creatures? And can I make him 26 years old, instead of 17? Cause, I'd really like that. :)

  4. Good question. I'm having a hard time coming up with someone. Hmmm. I'm going to say Anne Frank. I know she was alive at one time, but I think it would be interesting to spend some time with her and learn about her passed her diary. Maybe, talk to her about her time in the concentration camps. Even though that wouldn't be very pleasant, it would be very eye-opening.

  6. Hrm...Probably would want to spend the day with Luna Lovegood of Harry Potter. She would be really fun to talk to, and could tell me about the unwritten things about Hogwarts and maybe fix my Nargles problem hehe.

  7. You're killing me with this great and hard questions! There's way too many characters that I wish were alive. I would have to go with Katsa from "Graceling". She's such a strong female character. I'm curious as to what happened to her since we last heard from her and I'd be willing to ask if I could steal Po from her. ;)

  8. I would choose Thursday Next from Jasper Fforde's books! Not only does she seem like a fun and interesting heroine but she has the awesome ability to jump into the plots of famous novels!

  9. ohhhhhhhh, Anna, you have challenged me today! hmmmmm...I'll have to think on this and get back to you! [10minutes later after getting the kids in bed and reviewing my read book list] I think that it would be so much fun to spend some time with the Ushers from Rusty Fischer's Ushers, Inc.. They are so funny, interesting, and heroic. It'd be awesome to get some movie-loving-geek quality time on :)

  10. Sam from Maggie Stiefvaters Shiver series. Any one who's read it knows he's just the perfect guy. But he's also lovely and I would love to hear his music and I love his thoughts about the world.
