Today's Hop Question: What is my favorite literary villain?
It depends on how one interprets this question? Favorite meaning a villain that I like? My favorite among villains? Or the most vile of the villains? Hmmm...
I'll choose Humbert Humbert the creepy pedophile in Lolita. Why Humbert? He's despicable but the book is amazing.
Please take a look at my ALA Award Book Challenge and participate in my poll. Thanks.

Anne, there are so many "good" villains out there, it's hard to choose just one! You'll never guess who I chose!ReplyDelete

Picking a bad guy was tough!! Hop by and see me pick too if you want ;) http://blog.juliealindsey.com/ReplyDelete
My villain is slightly different. Come over and look!ReplyDelete
Ohhhh, yes, he is a baddie to a horrible degree! My pick would be someone similar - Efron Bane from Nightshade - he is evil, cruel and disgusting!ReplyDelete
"He Who Must Not Be Named" he's creepy but my all-time favorite villains are Sauron, Nazguls and Gollum.ReplyDelete
found you thru the blog hop and im your newest follower! happy friday!
Sigh. You know this book is on my "Top 10 Books I HAD to buy but STILL haven't read" list, right? hahaReplyDelete
I completely agree with your synopsis of Humbert Humbert and Lolita. I couldn’t narrow my worst villain’s down to 1 so I picked 5.ReplyDelete
I picked Great Expectations in your poll although Hitchhiker was a close 2nd. For whatever reason I'm one of the few people who didn't enjoy Tale of Two Cities???
Have a great weekend!
good villain choice, come by and see mine.ReplyDelete
Hi, just hopping on by, good choice of villain!ReplyDelete
I'm torn about whether I should read Lolita. I wonder if it will bring up some interesting emotions because of childhood experiences, but I at the same time, I've heard so many good things about the book.ReplyDelete
Hopping by and following. I see we're both taking part in the Audiobook challenge. Such a great way to "read" a book.ReplyDelete
My favorite book villain is, hands down, is the Napoleon of crime -ReplyDelete
Professor James Moriarty.
It took me less than ten seconds to come up with my answer. But you'll
never guess why.

Books Are Life,
Humbert creeped me out a bit too much. But it's a good choice!ReplyDelete
Just hopping by. What an interetsing choice

Just hopping by today. Your post about "ten books I HAD to buy" got me to think about my piles of TBR.ReplyDelete

Humbert is definitely a villain. Seems the book doesn't really make him out to be so, though.ReplyDelete
I've always liked Snape from Harry Potter... I know, I know, he turns out to be a good guy in the end. But, I was loyal to him from the start, even when everyone still thought he was a baddie.ReplyDelete
If I had to choose a villain who is just gross and unlikable though (I'm not sure why you'd call that a "favorite" but, whatever) I'd have to say President Snow from The Hunger Games. He is creeeeepy!
EXCELLENT choice... and I love Lolita!... and another one where the main character is the villian. Love it! :)ReplyDelete
