The Friday 56 is hosted at Freda's Voice. Find a quote from page 56.
Check out the links for the rules and for the posts of the participants each week. Participants don't select their favorite, coolest, or most intellectual books, they just use the one they are currently reading. This is the book I'm reading right now---
Title: The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald, translated from Swedish by Alice Menzies
Book Beginnings:
Dear Sara, I hope you enjoy Louisa May Alcott's An Old Fashioned Girl. It's a charming story, though perhaps a touch more overtly moralizing than Little Women.Friday 56:
She stood still a moment longer. Swaying. Laughing to herself as she swayed, she opened the bedroom door. She sank down on the bed and glanced around in amazement.Comments: I just finished this fun and sweet story about friendship and books and community, and yes, love. The first quote is a letter written to Sara, a Swedish girl, by Amy, a bibliophile in Iowa. In the second quote, Sara finds Amy's books.
This sounds like a book I would enjoy. Thanks for mentioning it. :-)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds really good. This week I'm reading Poisoned Blade by Kate Elliott. Happy reading!

ReplyDeleteThat first quote reminded me of the books other than Little Women written by Louisa May Alcott, and how I've slowly been acquiring them for reread. I haven't added an Old Fashioned Girl, yet, however.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the book, and thanks for visiting my blog.
I want to reread LITTLE WOMEN. I haven't read it since I was a kid.

DeleteI've seen this book on several blogs and wondered if I'd enjoy it. Sounds like it would be a fun story.
ReplyDeleteMy Friday post features THE REAL MOTHER.
I didn't care for it much; perhaps I was comparing it too much to A.J. Fikry. (which I loved!)
ReplyDeleteI have this one on my list. I love books about books and readers. Sounds charming. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds good - I don't know if I've ever seen this book before but I'll be adding it to my list. Thanks for visiting my my Friday meme earlier

ReplyDeleteIt is one of those books which will make you want more about books and less about relationships. oh well.

ReplyDeleteThis one is on my TBR. It sounds fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to try this, especially since it has been super popular. It's been out for perhaps 4 months solid!
