Snapshot Saturday, November 9

Snapshot Saturday is hosted by West Metro Mommy.

For those you you who have followed my blog you will know that my district had a huge server problem and they are slowly rebuilding all the programs. The library OPAC systems is STILL out after nearly four weeks. At one point this is how many books that were piled up waiting to be checked in before they could be shelved. Since taking this picture I've done a different type of off-line circulation which allows me to shelf the books. I am keeping my fingers crossed that my "fix" works when the system comes back on-line. Needless to say this has been a very frustrating time for me at work!

  1. Ugh! I used to work in a library and I remember days when our backlog would be like that!

  2. Goodness, what a lot of extra work your computer problems have caused! How thrilling! It must be wonderful to have a book in your hand after all the hard work. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/Zlqhui

  3. As my teenage stepsons would say - server issues? First world problem!
But when you're in the middle of it - it's still a problem :-)
Good luck getting on top of things again.

    1. Really. We talk about this issue as if it the end of the world. I wish I had more experience running a library without technology, like using check out cards. I may have to resort to some version of it just to keep track of who has what books.

  4. I keep thinking it will be any day. But after nearly a month, it is obvious that we have a serious problem. Perhaps we won't be able to retrieve our data and will have to build our libraries back up from scratch. Oh man, That would be bad.
