I can totally see people getting pissy about who plays their favorite characters in the movies. Adding this book to my never-ending TBR list. :O)LuAnn @ BackPorchervationshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01775630749079885915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083328248557950617.post-21973575913308600012015-08-07T10:38:59.485-07:002015-08-07T10:38:59.485-07:00Hi Anne,
This book is an interesting concept, but...Hi Anne,

This book is an interesting concept, but isn't something which I would personally read and enjoy.

I tend to enjoy my fiction for what it is ... fiction! I don't really want to pre-empt how the author might or might not have meant the reader to construe the story.

Probably why I have never wanted to join a book club or reading group

I also enjoy my classics for that same reason, so wouldn't read re-writes, prequels, alternative telllings etc.

I do however, hope that you have some interesting discussions about this book and enjoy reading it ... after all, that's what it is all about :)

YvonneYvonne @ Fiction Books Reviewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14821114534056290177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083328248557950617.post-53562072611620210132015-08-07T10:22:28.903-07:002015-08-07T10:22:28.903-07:00I consider myself a big fan of Austen, and I hate ...I consider myself a big fan of Austen, and I hate when I hear people complain about the Keira Knightly version. I thought is was wonderful and the actress was the appropriate age, so while "purists" complain she was too pretty, I don't see them pointing out the age difference of the actors in the BBC version compared to the book's. All in all, I'd choose the book over any adaptation anyways.Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsensehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12100606566359762426noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083328248557950617.post-80140751531214035492015-08-07T10:04:32.121-07:002015-08-07T10:04:32.121-07:00Interesting book for Austen fans!Interesting book for Austen fans!Harveehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03490108303790217277noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083328248557950617.post-39518346578461123982015-08-07T08:33:19.637-07:002015-08-07T08:33:19.637-07:00I like the sound of this one...thanks for sharing,...I like the sound of this one...thanks for sharing, and I can't imagine Keira Knightley as any character in a Jane Austen book...LOL.

Thanks for visiting my blog.Laurel-Rain Snowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00101090217639410913noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083328248557950617.post-24442454387204417382015-08-07T07:41:54.401-07:002015-08-07T07:41:54.401-07:00The chapters are just the right length, around 15 ...The chapters are just the right length, around 15 pages, to not be overwhelming.
