I am a strong believer in the idea that literature is a great way to face your fears or exposing yourself to something you might not normally, but I do think you should know your own "level", so to say. The end of this book sounds really interesting, but the content and the complexity could be a bit much! Wavering on how you feel about a book can be a good sign because it shows that it definitely made you think about something, intensely! Sorry if this comment is a bit rambling!
