It is more the kind of book I might dip in and out of, maybe just reading a single poem in a sitting.

In some ways, I like that this author has written explanatory notes for the poems. However on the other hand, poetry to me, is like any other novel ... unique in its interpretation to the individual reader, so perhaps author notes might be a little subjective?

Either way, I like the cover art choice and the very first line ..
"Good Poetry has the power to start a fire in your life."

Thanks for sharing and I hope that your weekend has been a good one so far :)

YvonneYvonne @ Fiction Books Reviewshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14821114534056290177noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083328248557950617.post-18000948276722705162016-02-27T13:58:24.055-08:002016-02-27T13:58:24.055-08:00I love the cover .. sounds like a nice read! In fact, I kind of hold a grudge against it. I majored in English in college, or at least, I did, until I took the required class on poetry. I couldn't interpret the damn things to save my life. I needed to pass the class to continue my English major, but I was doing so poorly I ended up dropping the class and changing my major. I still wish I hadn't had to take that stupid poetry class. I can analyze literature just fine, but poetry was always, and still is, a struggle. I do like the beginning of the first poem here though, I know what he means about starting something but getting bad advice from the voices around you. Thanks for visiting my blog! Sorry about the anti-poetry rant, lol.Kim Griffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16649048042099625963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083328248557950617.post-1163478052358951132016-02-27T11:47:34.910-08:002016-02-27T11:47:34.910-08:00That's a wonderful beginning to a poem!

It goes on to say things about not listening to the voice (shouting bad advice) even if it is super hard.
