I suspect if it comes out on top of all the 2019 lists that it will get more attention from serious readers.Anne@HeadFullofBookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01069558006454986084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083328248557950617.post-47998580078106801232019-12-14T00:26:53.867-08:002019-12-14T00:26:53.867-08:00I’ve been reading lots of best books of 2019 lists...I’ve been reading lots of best books of 2019 lists this past 2 weeks & I suspect that this book is the one with the most listings. It also seems to be top of nearly all the lists. It has made me curious. It came out earlier this year in Australia with a very different cover, & went completely unnoticed in my indie bookshop. I remember our rep saying ‘watch this one’ but nothing happened. Maybe Siberia & long, cold dark dreary winters don’t have the same geographic closeness for us? Maybe the cover didn’t entice anyone to pick it up (including me)? Curious. <br />Bronahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11110584237325026052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4083328248557950617.post-44906477069252637122019-12-13T20:31:54.165-08:002019-12-13T20:31:54.165-08:00Bleak sounds like a word to describe the location ...Bleak sounds like a word to describe the location and lives of these characters. The idea of disappearing...even when still present. Being invisible to others, both figuratively and literally. It really made me think! And the setting was unique and eerie.Margarethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17197599882756386184noreply@blogger.com
