Books I think would make awesome movies

Broke and Booksih

Books I think would make awesome movies.

OK!  I admit that I read a whole lot more than I watch movies so I may actually suggest a book that has already been made into a movie...please be kind!
1.  Eragon by Paolini...actually I know this one was made into a movie already but the movie was so terrible it doesn't count.  It needs a remake that is worthy of the book.

2.  Half Brother by Oppel...I think this would make a wonderful and touching movie about the rights of animals and what it means to be human.

3.  The History of Love by Krauss...the book is amazing so why shouldn't it be an amazing movie?

4.  How to Say Goodbye in Robot by Standiford... it is so quirky and honest.  I think the late night radio segments could be fun in the movies.

5.  The Sky is Everywhere by Nelson...it is sad, and funny, and romantic.  I'd go see it.

6.  Feed by M.T. Anderson...futuristic consumerism to the max.  Is this our future?

7.  Ship Breaker by Bacigalupi...another futuristic tale this one focusing on the possible effects of global warming, lack of resources, with a bit of a love story.

8.  Cutting for Stone by Verghese...this would be an epic film and would have to be directed by someone who loves the story enough to keep all it's pieces in place.

Not one of my better lists.  Any ideas of books you think would make awesome movies?

  2. I totally agree that the Eragon movie did not do this book justice. I would also like to see The sky is Everywhere. Great picks!

  3. I haven't read Eragon yet, and now I'm curious hahahaha. I would like to see in a movie the book The girl's guide to hunting and fishing. I hope they will make someday :)

  4. You've reminded me of Cutting for Stone. Once again. It's still sitting under my bed, patiently awaiting me. Will I ever get around to it?!

Here's my post for today's Top Ten Tuesday.

  6. Ha ha! Someone said the same thing about the I Am Legend movie that you did about Eragon. I didn't even think of remaking movies. I could come up a list that is forever long! :)

  7. I would be all over a screening of THE HISTORY OF LOVE. Hopefully, they would keep in the scene of Leo in Starbucks.

CUTTING FOR STONE is a great choice, too. I would love to see a depiction Missing Hospital.

HOW TO SAY GOOD-BYE IN ROBOT sounds interesting, I need to check that one out.

  10. Aw, I can't believe you thought your list wasn't very good - I think you've got some great ones here! I almost included Half Brother on my list, too, just didn't have enough room.

And I loved History of Love - you're right, that would be such a great movie! I love the ways all the pieces come together and connect.

Hope re-entry back to work hasn't been too harsh this week.
